OUR LAST WEEK IN TASSIE!

DAY 42 – 43

We only have a week left in beautiful Tasmania so we decided to try our luck for some more trout before we head off the island! From Ulverstone we travelled east and down to Lake Leake for a couple of days.

Lake Leake has a couple of different option for camping. There are half a dozen powered sites and further along the lake there is an area for unpowered camping and we were lucky enough to have the whole section to ourselves so a very peaceful stay!

The boys put the boat in the water and got a nice trout and a decent feed of redfin perch.

DAY 44 – 46

Today we decided to head over to the east coast and spent our last few days in Freycinet National Park. We tried to get a campsite at Friendly Beaches but had no luck. This is a free campground just off the beach but isn’t very big so was already full of campers, instead, we set up at the Golf Club.

Over the next few days we explored Freycinet National Park and all its beauty.

FRIENDLY BEACHES

WINEGLASS BAY LOOKOUT

This is a 3km return walk to see the beautiful crystal clear water and white sandy beach of Wineglass Bay from above! The walk is a steady uphill climb to the viewing platform but there are plenty of spots to have a break along the way.

DAY 47

Today is the last day of our Tassie adventure but really its only the start of our journey as we have a whole year of travelling ahead of us!

We came back to Tasmania to explore more of what we missed in 2018 and now with a total of three months spent down here, we’ve added a decent amount of lines on our map! I’m sure we’ll be back again one day because there’s still more to see!!

For now though, we have front row seats (beds) back to Melbourne and we are turning left off the boat, we’ve got so much more to explore! #sa#nt#wa

THE MAP BELOW SHOWS WHERE WE WERE!
