DAY 17

After a great few days back on the Tasman Peninsula we are starting to trek west. Although, not too far west, just an hour at this stage! We had some things in Hobart we wanted to revisit and a couple of things we missed last time.

We came back to a beautiful farm stay from our last visit, “Churchill”, just near the township of Richmond. This campground is only 25 minutes from the centre of Hobart and in the most beautiful rural setting and the hosts are some of the best you will find!

DAY 18

We were keen to head back to Salamanca Markets for another visit. Last time we visited the markets there was a cruise ship docked and it was so unbelievably busy, we couldn’t see or get near any tables! This time, it was a much better experience, we really enjoyed wandering through the market and the surrounding shops.

After a delicious lunch of Fish and Chips at Elizabeth Street Pier we drove a short 20 minutes from the city centre to the summit of Mount Wellington for the beautiful views over Hobart. Mount Wellington sits 1271 metres above sea level and you can drive, on a sealed road, all the way to the top!

DAY 19

Today we celebrated birthday number two on the road… Happy Birthday to the dad of the team, Justin!

We had a relaxing day with a trip to Richmond for a Sunday morning wander around the markets and town. Lots of food consumed with a sneaky few birthday beers and wines!

DAY 20

We are heading Mount Field way tomorrow so today we stocked up on some groceries and essentials for the next week or so. In the afternoon, the boys put the boat in the water at Colebrook Dam for a fish and came home with dinner – some delicious redfin perch!
