CURRAWONG CAMPING AREA | Chichester State Forest NSW

Currawong Camping Area is one of four campsites in this part of Chichester State Forest.

The campgrounds in Chichester State Forest have a lush rain forest feel. They are mostly flat, grassy open areas and have access to the river. And… they are all FREE!!

Chichester State Forest is well signposted from Dungog. If you get to the dam, you have gone too far!  From Dungog it is around 25kms to Currawong Camping Area with 9kms of dirt road.

Currawong is signposted 4WD only as there is a river crossing. It is a hard rocky base and wasn’t very deep when we were there – weather dependent though so be cautious!
