We had a few spots marked on WikiCamps along the Hume Highway that looked suitable for an overnight stay and this time we pulled up in Yass. Ludlows Reserve | LAKE HUME VIC

Ludlows Reserve is a large free camping area with lake access for boating, fishing and swimming. Lake Hume is a very popular spot for ski boats.  We were there over a long weekend and it was packed through the day with lots locals set up for a day on the water. WHERE IS IT? Fry’s Flat Campground | Howqua Hills VIC

FRY'S FLAT CAMPGROUND is within Howqua Hills Historic Area.  There are several campgrounds in the area all with access to the river and plenty of space and shade. Howqua Hills is 35km south east of Mansfield and not too far from the alpine village of Mount Buller.  WHERE IS IT? Brocks Road, Howqua Hills, VIC From Mansfield you follow Mount Buller Road for around 19kms then turn onto Howqua Track for the remaining 16km which is on good gravel road through to the camping area.
