ECHUCA: Paddlesteamers on the Murray!

When visiting ECHUCA in Victoria, a cruise down the Murray River on a Paddlesteamer is a must!!

The Murray River fleet has three Paddlesteamers:  PS Emmylou, PS Canberra and PS Pride of the Murray.

We boarded the PS Canberra which happens to be the oldest Paddlesteamer in the fleet – she’s been on the water for over a century!

The cruise we went on lasted for approximately one hour and the skipper provided an informative historic commentary along the way.

The Murray is alive with boats of all shapes and sizes – paddlesteamers, house boats, ski boats, jet skis.  We were blown away with how busy it was!

All kids on board get the opportunity to have a steer and receive a Skippers Certificate for their efforts!  We had one very excited little boy (not quite as exciting for Caitlin).

Murray River Paddlesteamers offer a variety of cruises – head over to their website for further information.

This was really enjoyable, definitely something to do if you are in the area.
