We were chasing somewhere to escape the Easter crowds for a few days and this place was definitely a winner!! If you enjoy bush camping, you’ll like this spot as much as we did!
The camping area spreads for around a kilometre and there was only a few others camped there at the same time we were.
WHERE IS IT?
Deepwater is around 30kms north of Glen Innes, just off the New England Highway in NSW.
The camping area is on Bezzants Road. From the highway there is around 1.5km of good dirt road to travel along and a rail bridge with a clearance of 4.4 metres..
If you come in from the township of Deepwater there is a creek crossing. It has a hard rocky base and was quite shallow and easy to cross when we were there (this is the YELLOW markings on the map below).
You can miss the creek crossing by coming in via Bezzants Road. This turn off is south of the township (this is the RED markings on the map below).
