Thargomindah is a beautiful little town to visit. We rode our bikes to the river, into town and out to the Thargomindah Bore from the van park so a great location to explore the area. The Explorers Caravan Park has a huge unpowered section which suited us perfectly! We had the added bonus of being able to have a campfire and the owners even allowed us to raid their wood pile! We stayed behind the Pub at Cunnamulla a couple of years ago. At that time it was free. WikiCamps has some mixed reports on whether it is free or $5 now. We say pay the $5, it's a great overnight stop!! Only a few sites available so we suggest you call before arriving. Access is via the lane way at the back but enough room to turn around once you are in there. The amenities are available for use if needed. And of course, meals and drinks available in the pub! Lake Victoria is a beautiful spot!! If we had longer we would have stayed a couple more days! There are no facilities at this free camp just gorgeous views and peace and quiet - perfect combination we reckon!! We even caught a couple of red claw!
