MILPARINKA – OUTBACK NSW

Milparinka is around 250km north of Broken Hill and 40kms south of Tibooburra on the Silver City Highway. Although the gold mining days are well in the past the town's small community has restored some of the old buildings to preserve the town's history. WHITE CLIFFS – OUTBACK NSW

WHITE CLIFFS… an intriguing little outback town! You will find White Cliffs around 70km north of Wilcannia and 270km northeast of Broken Hill in Outback NSW. ECHUCA: Paddlesteamers on the Murray!

When visiting ECHUCA in Victoria, a cruise down the Murray River on a Paddlesteamer is a must!! The Murray River fleet has three Paddlesteamers:  PS Emmylou, PS Canberra and PS Pride of the Murray.  We boarded the PS Canberra which happens to be the oldest Paddlesteamer in the fleet - she's been on the water for over a century! Mount Yacaaba Walking Track

YACAABA WALKING TRACK Location: Hawks Nest, NSW (Myall Lakes National Park) Distance: 6.3km return to the Beach Road Car Park Time frame: 2.5 hours... this was with a nice rest at the top and some geocaching too! Grade: 4 Elevation: 185m above sea level GETTING TO THE START OF THE TRACK The walking track starts at the southern end of Bennetts Beach. Sturt’s Boat Replica – TIBOOBURRA, NSW

STURT'S BOAT REPLICA Sturt’s Boat Replica is located at Pioneer Park in Tibooburra, in Outback NSW.   It is a replica of the 27 ft long whaleboat that Sturt’s party carried with them by wagon on their expedition in 1844-1845. They were in search of "the inland sea".  Sturt also took with him a party of 15 men, 11 horses, 30 bullocks, 4 drays, 200 sheep and 6 dogs.  They travelled along the Murray and Darling Rivers towards the now Broken [Read more...]
