COOLAH TOPS NATIONAL PARK, New South Wales

The October Long Weekend had us exploring Coolah Tops National Park in New South Wales. Coolah Tops National Park is 30kms east of the township of Coolah and around 330kms north west of Newcastle. The last 15kms into the National Park is dirt road with a few dips in sections, however, no issues for a 4WD/van with reasonable clearance. BATTERY ROCK REST AREA – Gungal, NSW

Battery Rock Rest Area is a FREE CAMP on the Golden Highway. The rest area is fairly small however there is a turning circle down the bottom so access in and out if towing is fine. This rest area has some interesting rock formations that are millions of years old!  Even if you are not camping overnight, it's worth a quick break to view these. WHERE IS IT? CENTRAL QUEENSLAND – Two Week Trip Plan

The July School Holidays were upon us and we set off for a two week trip into Central Queensland.  The only real plans were to make it to The Gemfields and Carnarvon Gorge and the rest we worked out along the way. CATARACT GORGE is a short 5 minute drive from central Launceston.  A popular place for a walk, run, swim or to simply relax in the beautiful bushland setting!
